A tribal ritual known as Pamuhat, led by the tribe's Datu and Bae, kicked off the Groundbreaking and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the Improvement of the Mangima Spring Resort Project on June 10, 2025, at the Mangima Spring Resort and Bike Park in Barangay Dalirig.
The project involves the construction of a 4-star hotel, a restaurant, and other modern amenities. It is one of the largest undertakings of the Local Government of Manolo Fortich, valued at 230 million pesos and expected to be completed within 540 days. Beyond building impressive infrastructure, the project symbolizes the beginning of partnerships, the celebration of cultural heritage, and a commitment to long-term development for the municipality.
Following the Pamuhat, a short program was held. Project Engineer, Engr. Michael Joseph Estrella of Ed1son Development & Construction, INC., presented the building’s design perspective and the anticipated outcomes. "As we progress to the design, we really look for a good reference or aspect of the design. Which is as what we have gathered, that the main basis or the concept of the project is mainly from the Mangima stone - because it is very vital in this place, and also the eagle and the wooded environment of this area, and the Bukidnon tribe," stated Engr. Estrella.
The groundbreaking ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño, Vice Governor Clive D. Quiño, and Vice Mayor Reynaldo L. Bagayas Jr., along with members of the Sangguniang Bayan: Coun. Rina E. Quiño, Coun. Raquel Abales, Coun. Joy Cordovez, Coun. Elzevir Dagunlay, and IPMR Datu Alex D. Payangga. The Barangay Council of Dalirig, headed by Chairman El Meleza Leparto, also participated in the event.
Mayor Quiño expressed his gratitude and pride in the progress of one of the municipality’s flagship projects. "Kalipay nato nga for a very long time, ato nagyung nasugdan ang pagpahigayon sa pag-construct sa bag-o nga 4-star hotel. It's a complete renovation sa atong Mangima. So I think kini padayon ni siya, this is one of the best hotels in Bukidnon. This is also part of the economic enterprise. Kini mahimo nga makadugang sa atong kinitaan sa lungsod sa Manolo Fortich, then daghan pa ang atong mahimo dayon nga mga programa ug projects sa lungsod," says Mayor Quiño.
With strong partnerships and collaborations, the project contractor, Ed1son Development & Construction, INC., led by CEO Ferdinand Eldon Uy, attended the ceremony. Also present were representatives from the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), which supported the LGU’s development initiatives and facilitated the project's funding.
The project is envisioned to become a catalyst for regional — and even national — tourism, offering a sophisticated lodging and dining experience that complements the municipality’s ecological and cultural richness. Once completed, the hotel is expected to generate employment opportunities for both local and non-local residents, raising the standard of living and boosting economic activity in the community.
